A mesmerizing pyrite sun is cast in brass using the lost wax casting technique, preserving and adding to its natural beauty. Suspended from an 18" antique brass chain, this pendant sits just below the collarbones like a protective shield.
Pyrite suns, also called "miners dollars" are spectacular disk-shaped mineral concretions of pyrite. This pyrite sun was found in a coal mine in Sparta, Illinois. Pyrite, in it's natural form, is believed to supplement physical energy with the energy of the sun, increases stamina, stimulate the intellect, and protects against negativity.
Antique brass pendant is 2 3/4" diameter and the brass chain is 18" long with lobster clasp.
